BAck-end is where all the website process happen. Think of it as the brain of the human body. Also, the back-end is where all the data is processed to show users dynamic contents on the front-end. There are several languages for back-end programming like PHP, Python, Ruby.

PHP: It is one of the most popular web app development languages. Also, More than 80 million websites currently using PHP.

Python: It is a relatively modern programming language. It is for general-purpose programming and also web development. 

Ruby: Ruby is an object-oriented, general-purpose programming language. Also, Ruby on Rails is the most popular web app framework for Ruby.

Here is a simplified comparison of these three languages. However, keep in mind the difficulty is for someone new who is trying to learn and use these languages.

SQL: It is best for relational data when the relationship between datasets is well-defined. Example of such database systems is MySQL and PostgreSQL.

NoSQL: It is best for large amounts of data or ever-changing data sets. Example of such database systems is Redis and MongoDB.

Server management

When it comes to server management, there are many web server software. The most popular ones are Apache HTTP Server and Nginx.

Disadvantage: Uses a multi-threaded approach when processing client requests.Advantage: Uses an event-driven approach when serving client requests.
Disadvantage: Cannot handle multiple requests with heavy web traffic. Advantage: Can handle multiple client requests efficiently with limited resources.
Advantage: Processes dynamic content within the server itself. Disadvantage: Can’t process dynamic content within the server itself.
Advantage: Modules are dynamically loaded, making them more flexible. Disadvantage: Modules cannot be loaded dynamically. So, they must be compiled within the core software.

What server software to choose mostly depends on the objective. So, it’s better to have knowledge of both server software.
